PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — State-owned palm oil company PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) has recorded rapid expansion and strong financial performance in its first year of operations, managing a total of 1.7 million hectares of land throughout 2025, with around 774,000 hectares already planted with oil palm.
President Director Agus Sutomo said the achievement was reached in less than one year since the company officially began its mandate to manage oil palm estates in February 2025.
When Agrinas Palma first assumed its assignment on March 10, 2025, the company was overseeing only 221,000 hectares, of which about 159,000 hectares were planted with oil palm.

“Since then, we have received land management assignments five times. The most recent was on December 23, 2025. Today, our total area stands at 1.7 million hectares, with 774,000 hectares already planted,” Agus said during the company’s first anniversary celebration at Menara Palma, South Jakarta, on Friday (January 23).
He noted that planted areas have become the company’s primary operational focus, as they represent productive assets capable of generating immediate revenue. From these operations, Agrinas Palma has delivered what management describes as strong financial results.
Within its relatively short operating period, the company booked IDR 4.3 trillion in revenue and posted a net profit of IDR 1.6 trillion.

“We have generated IDR 4.3 trillion in revenue, with net profit reaching IDR 1.6 trillion. We have contributed IDR 530 billion to the state treasury, and we have placed IDR 1 trillion in deposits,” Agus said.
He stressed that the results reflected collective effort and professional execution across the organization. “To this day, we continue to earn the trust of the government to carry out our mandate in managing oil palm plantations,” he added.
Biodiesel Production Target Still Under Review
At the same event, Head of Communications and Institutional Affairs Renaldi Zein said the national target of producing 1.5 million kiloliters of B40 biodiesel remains a long-term ambition that will require extensive preparation and major investment.
“That is a long-term target, possibly a medium-term one. Developing biodiesel—fuel blended from palm oil and diesel—requires a lengthy process,” Renaldi told reporters.

He emphasized that the initiative is still in the research and feasibility study phase. “And it will require substantial investment,” he said.
From Infrastructure Consultant to Palm Oil SOE
Agrinas Palma Nusantara was previously known as PT Indra Karya (Persero), a state-owned enterprise historically focused on infrastructure and engineering consultancy.
Established in 1961, Indra Karya originally operated as an engineering consultant before expanding into construction consultancy. In early 2025, the company formally shifted its business direction toward plantation management, including oil palm.
The transformation was formalized through a decree by the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia approving amendments to the company’s articles of association on February 21, 2025.
With its rapid land expansion and multi-trillion-rupiah revenue in its first year, Agrinas Palma has emerged as one of Indonesia’s closely watched state-owned enterprises, particularly in efforts to strengthen the palm oil industry while supporting the country’s broader energy security agenda.
