PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan and as part of its ongoing social commitment, Agrinas Palma Nusantara has rolled out its Ramadan People’s Market program across several operational areas, including Rokan Hulu (Riau), North Padang Lawas (North Sumatra), and Bengkayang (West Kalimantan).

Through this initiative, the company has provided a total of 5,600 subsidized staple food packages, offering affordable access to essential goods for plantation workers and surrounding communities. The program aims to help ease the financial burden during Ramadan, a period typically marked by increased household consumption.

Gatut Mukti, General Manager of TJSL & ESG Division at Agrinas Palma Nusantara, who attended the event in Rokan Hulu, emphasized that the Ramadan People’s Market reflects the company’s commitment to Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL), with a strong focus on community welfare.

“Ramadan is a time for sharing and strengthening togetherness. Through this program, we want to ensure that both workers and nearby communities can access basic necessities more easily and at affordable prices. This is part of our effort to ensure the company’s presence delivers direct benefits,” he said in an official statement received by Palmoilmagazine.com on Thursday (March 19, 2026).

The program, held from mid to late Ramadan, was also attended by regional plantation leaders, including Supriyono in Bengkayang, Nunu Nugraha in North Padang Lawas, and Arisman in Rokan Hulu. They symbolically handed over the subsidized packages to beneficiaries.

The initiative has been warmly welcomed by local communities, not only for its economic benefits but also for strengthening the relationship between the company and residents.

A beneficiary in Rokan Hulu expressed appreciation for the program, noting that it significantly helped reduce household expenses during Ramadan.

“We are very grateful for this people’s market. Prices are much more affordable, which really helps us manage our family spending during this period,” the resident said.

A plantation worker in Bengkayang shared a similar sentiment, highlighting the tangible impact of the program on daily needs.

“Programs like this are truly beneficial. We hope it can continue because it directly supports us in meeting our everyday necessities,” the worker added.
