PALMOILMAGAZINE, PEKANBARU — The price of independent smallholder Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) in Riau Province experienced a decline during the July 2–8, 2025 period. According to Decree No. 22 on Independent FFB Pricing, the price for 9-year-old oil palm trees decreased by IDR 20.24/kg, bringing it down to IDR 3,206.70/kg.
Based on data from the Riau Plantation Agency, as reported by Palmoilmagazine.com, the independent FFB prices by tree age are detailed below:
- 3 years: IDR 2,474.33/kg
- 4 years: IDR 2,765.31/kg
- 5 years: IDR 2,973.65/kg
- 6 years: IDR 3,090.05/kg
- 7 years: IDR 3,159.02/kg
- 8 years: IDR 3,197.93/kg
- 9 years: IDR 3,206.70/kg
- 10–20 years: IDR 3,170.45/kg
- 21 years: IDR 3,114.31/kg
- 22 years: IDR 3,050.43/kg
- 23 years: IDR 2,977.82/kg
- 24 years: IDR 2,922.98/kg
- 25 years: IDR 2,877.79/kg
For the same period, commodity reference prices were recorded as follows; Crude Palm Oil (CPO) IDR 13,533.63/kg, Palm kernel IDR 10,001.17/kg, Palm shell IDR 25.06/kg, and K Index 92.09%.
Although the drop is modest, it has implications for independent palm oil farmers in the region, highlighting the importance of market stability and consistent pricing to ensure sustainable incomes. (P3)
