PALMOILMAGAZINE, PEKANBARU — Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for independent (swadaya) palm oil smallholders in Riau recorded a notable increase for the December 10–16, 2025 pricing period, following a decision by the provincial price-setting team as outlined in Decree No. 45.
FFB from nine-year-old palms, the key reference category, rose by IDR 54.64 per kg to IDR 3,456.10 per kg, reflecting firmer downstream price benchmarks and improved pricing fundamentals.
Data compiled by Palmoilmagazine.com from the Riau Provincial Plantation Agency show that prices varied by plantation age. Three-year-old palms were priced at IDR 2,668.95 per kg, while four-year-old palms reached IDR 2,981.41 per kg. Prices increased to IDR 3,204.62 per kg for five-year-old palms and IDR 3,329.61 per kg for six-year-old palms.

More productive plantations saw higher prices, with seven-year-old palms set at IDR 3,404.06 per kg and eight-year-old palms at IDR 3,445.82 per kg. The highest price was recorded for nine-year-old palms at IDR 3,456.10 per kg, while palms aged 10–20 years were priced slightly lower at IDR 3,417.70 per kg.
For older plantations, prices gradually declined in line with yield profiles. FFB from 21-year-old palms was priced at IDR 3,357.84 per kg, followed by 22-year-old palms at IDR 3,289.54 per kg and 23-year-old palms at IDR 3,211.91 per kg. Prices for 24- and 25-year-old palms stood at IDR 3,153.25 per kg and IDR 3,104.95 per kg, respectively.
For the same period, the reference crude palm oil (CPO) price was set at IDR 14,347.27 per kg, while palm kernel prices were established at IDR 11,111.17 per kg. Shell value was recorded at IDR 27.33 per kg, with a K index of 92.93%, a critical factor in translating downstream prices into farm-gate FFB values.
The mid-December adjustment offers fresh support for independent smallholders in Riau as the palm oil sector heads toward year-end, backed by resilient CPO pricing and steady demand from downstream processors. (P2)
