The implementation of the community development and nature conservation program will focus on the Muting and Ulilin Districts in eight villages, namely Selil, Kindiki, Pachas, Muting, Boha, Kolam, Wan, and Selauw. In addition, the Department of Education also presented the baseline results of education using the national education standards (SNP), which were conducted in May 2023. This was followed by the presentation of the baseline health results, which were carried out under the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between PT Bio Inti Agrindo and BKKBN. The study was conducted in April 2023 by the Muting Health Center and PT BIA Clinic, supervised by the Department of Health, through screenings and interviews to determine the target for improving nutrition or providing supplementary feeding.
One of the programs that supports the prevention of stunting is part of the national priority issues set by President Jokowi in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024, with a national target to reduce the condition from 24.4% in 2021 to 14% in 2024. Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by a long-term lack of nutrient intake, resulting in impaired growth in children.
This program is implemented through the provision of Supplementary Feeding (PMT) for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under the age of five (toddlers). The hope is that through PMT, the well-being of mothers and children will improve, and they will be free from stunting. “The PMT program will be provided to the identified targets in the eight villages, with the hope that mothers and children will be free from stunting,” said Doctor Wawang Tirtana, as explained by Resit during the presentation of this year’s health program. In addition, the staff will also provide socialization on clean and healthy lifestyles and nutritional information during the accompanying activities for the next 12 months.
The collaboration between BIA and P3MD has also successfully established Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMK) in three villages in 2023, namely Selil, Kindiki, and Muting, to serve as a model for local business management. The socialization of the establishment of BUMK, the preparation of articles of association, and village consultations were conducted in May 2023 by TAPM P3MD, TPP District Muting and Ulilin, as well as PT Bio Inti Agrindo.
