PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — Indonesia’s Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, welcomed Belarus Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in Jakarta on Monday (August 5). The bilateral meeting focused on strengthening agricultural cooperation, particularly in opening new market opportunities for Indonesia’s leading commodities.

Minister Amran emphasized the importance of boosting exports of five strategic commodities to Belarus: crude palm oil (CPO), coffee, cocoa, coconut, and rubber. “This meeting was very positive. We are pushing exports of strategic commodities such as CPO, coffee, cocoa, coconut, and rubber. This is crucial to improving our trade balance,” he stated, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from the Ministry of Agriculture’s official Facebook page on Sunday (August 10, 2025).

He underscored that Indonesia is the world’s largest CPO producer and the second-largest coconut producer. With such potential, Belarus is seen as both a strategic partner and a promising market for Indonesia’s downstream agricultural products.

“This is a mutually beneficial relationship. So far, we have imported milk from Belarus, and in the future, there are plans to import butter and meat. But at the same time, we also want to export our products there so that the trade balance remains fair,” Amran added.

According to Amran, Belarus welcomed the initiative and expressed readiness to facilitate the promotion of Indonesia’s key agricultural products in its domestic market. This support is expected to accelerate market penetration while strengthening trade ties between the two countries. (P2)
