PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, who now also serves as Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration in accelerating Indonesia’s path toward national food self-sufficiency.
“We only have one vision from President Prabowo — achieving food self-sufficiency,” Amran stated after the official handover ceremony (sertijab) of the Bapanas leadership from Arief Prasetyo Adi, held in Jakarta on Monday (October 13, 2025).
Amran emphasized that this transition marks a crucial moment to consolidate national food policies under a unified, results-oriented coordination framework. His first priority after assuming leadership, he added, would be to synchronize programs between the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) and Bapanas to ensure that policy implementation remains coherent and effective.

The Minister also extended his appreciation to Arief Prasetyo Adi for his significant achievements in leading Bapanas over the past four years. “Thank you for your dedication. The progress made in the food sector has been remarkable and widely recognized,” Amran said, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from Antara.
According to Amran, both Kementan and Bapanas share the same mission in realizing President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to accelerate food self-sufficiency.
“God willing, if all goes smoothly, within the next two to three months we can start realizing the President’s major vision for food self-sufficiency. What was planned to be achieved in four years, we will aim to accomplish within one. This is a collective effort that involves everyone,” he asserted.

Amran explained that the acceleration strategy will focus on three main priorities: increasing production, stabilizing national food stocks, and controlling prices. He stressed that the strong progress made in the food sector over the past year must be maintained through concrete actions and continued coordination.
“We cannot stop at what we have achieved. All the progress under Mr. Arief’s leadership must continue. We must maintain the system, keep the rhythm, and move even faster,” Amran remarked.
He further noted that strong synergy among Kementan, Bapanas, Perum Bulog, and other related institutions will be the key foundation in maintaining food availability and price stability across the country. In addition to maintaining current achievements, the Ministry also plans to expand food self-sufficiency efforts to other strategic commodities.

Kementan’s targets include increasing production and efficiency in palm oil, vegetable oils, corn, sugar, poultry, eggs, chili, shallots, coffee, and cocoa, ensuring that national food independence becomes a multi-commodity movement rather than focusing solely on rice.
“President Prabowo has made it clear that food sovereignty is not merely a government program — it represents the dignity of the nation. Therefore, every piece of arable land and every farmer willing to work must receive our full support. This is the spirit that will guide us forward,” Amran concluded.
