PALMOILMAGAZINE, KOTAWARINGIN TIMUR – The Indonesian Palm Oil Smallholders Association (Apkasindo) of East Kotawaringin Regency enthusiastically supports the construction of a new road stretching from kilometer 62 on Jalan Jendral Sudirman to Bagendang Port. This infrastructure project is expected to provide great benefits to smallholders in the area.

Yunan Nasution, a member of Apkasindo, expressed his support for the construction of this new road. He believes that it will greatly facilitate the transportation of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from the plantation to the collection point or mill.

One of the main advantages of the new road construction is the anticipated reduction in transportation costs for the FFB harvest. This, in turn, is expected to have a positive impact on smallholders welfare. Darmin also noted that better transportation infrastructure will result in faster travel times, reduced traffic congestion, and fewer accidents, which will further improve the efficiency of transportation operations.

In addition, Darmin emphasized the broader social and economic benefits that the new road will bring. He believes that better infrastructure will drive economic growth across the region, encouraging development in various villages. Ultimately, Nasution anticipates that better transportation infrastructure will increase the productivity of plantations and improve the operating efficiency of large private companies in distributing crops.
