East Kalimantan Agency Signs MoU on Palm Oil Infrastructure to Boost Productivity

PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – On Tuesday (30/4), the Head of the Plantation Agency in East Kalimantan Province signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the General Directorate of Plantation at the meeting room of the Directorate of Palm Oil and Various Palm.

The signing ceremony, chaired by Romauli Siagian, Chairman of the Infrastructure Team Secretariat of Palm Oil Plantation at the General Directorate of Plantation, was attended by representatives from five regencies in East Kalimantan Province: Berau, PPU, Kutai Timur, Kutai Kartanegara, and Kubar.

This MoU signing marks a significant milestone in ensuring a unified commitment to enhance palm oil plantation productivity and quality in the province.

Ence Achmad Rafiddin Rizal, the Head of the Plantation Agency, emphasized that the MoU demonstrates the government’s serious intent to elevate the palm oil plantation sector.

As Palmoilmagazine.com quoted from the official page of East Kalimantan Province, the signing of the Mou would also significantly deliver plantation infrastructures within the good cultivation technique. 

“One hope is the there would be recommendation to get palm oil plantation infrastructure activity in each regency, and there would be monitoring and evaluation from the activity in every quarter,” Rizal said, Wednesday (1/5/2024). 

He also mentioned these would improve plantation cultivation and infrastructures, contribute to escalate production and productivity, quality, and smallholders’ business sustainably.

Through the synergy among the central and regional governments and other related parties, the program should deliver good impacts significantly to develop palm oil plantations in the province. It is hoped that the smallholders would get better economy in the local and realize sustainable development in the province. (T2)
