PALMOILMAGAZINE, BEKASI – The day had arrived. In the grand hall of Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi (Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE), 152 graduates sat with high hopes, wearing their gowns and caps. This was more than just an academic ceremony; it was a celebration of their hard work and the long educational journey they had completed. Standing proudly on the podium, the Director of Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE, Nugroho Kristono, addressed the audience with joy and pride.
“On behalf of the academic community, we congratulate you. Your success is a testament to your perseverance and the dedication of the lecturers and staff who guided and nurtured you,” Nugroho said during the graduation of the second Sarjana Terapan Program and the 16th Diploma 3 Program of 2023/2024, as reported by Palmoilmagazine.com on Saturday (10/5/2024).
His words were not only directed at the graduates but also at their parents, guardians, and those who provided scholarships to support their education.

This year, Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE graduated students from various programs: 37 from the Diploma IV in Plantation Plant Production Technology, 42 from the Diploma III in Palm Oil Plantation Cultivation, 38 from the Diploma in Plantation Product Processing, and 35 from Management Logistics. Notably, 46 graduates achieved Cum Laude honors.
Nugroho reminded the graduates that their journey did not end with the ceremony. He emphasized that earning an academic title is not the ultimate mark of success, but rather a step toward greater responsibility. “With your new title comes increased responsibility, both in your work and in society. The workforce awaits your contributions and the skills you’ve gained,” he said.
He also reminded that learning is a continuous process. Lifelong learning would be the significant message for the graduate. “The process of learning should not stop in the graduation day. In the contrary, you have to always learn in every aspect of life and work,” he said.
In the same chance, Nugroho re-introduced the slogan of Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE that should be the basic character of the graduate – Tanggap, Tanggon, Trengginas (Responsive, Tough, Agile). This slogan has sensitivity, the ability to adapt, and fighting spirits.
Responsive means the sensitivity that raises the connectivity. “In nowadays era, care to other people and environment would be the key. This is very significant namely in palm oil industries. Our work would connect to the plants, every living source that needs more attention,” he said.
Tough means someone with humble and capability to listen to and adapt with many backgrounds. Agile means the spirit, dedication, and physical power needed to always contribute in the dynamic industries.
The graduates of Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE are heading to the wide world, carry up the three spirits. Outside the ahll, the work and society are waiting for their real contribution with the big challenges from their academic journey that they went through. (P2)
