PALMOILMAGAZINE, PANGKALPINANG – The Forest Area Management Task Force (Satgas PKH) conducted a working visit to the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) on Tuesday (September 30, 2025). The team was received by Governor Hidayat Arsani, along with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and other relevant agencies, during a coordination meeting held at the Babel High Prosecutor’s Office.

The visit was part of Satgas PKH’s continued efforts to address ongoing issues related to tin trade governance and palm oil plantation management in the province. Governor Hidayat welcomed the initiative, emphasizing that the task force’s mission is not punitive, but corrective—focused on improving systems and ensuring transparency.

“This task force did not come to conduct raids or enforcement actions, but to reform the tin governance system to make it more accountable and transparent,” said Governor Hidayat, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from the Babel Provincial Government, Monday (October 6, 2025).

He further noted that the task force’s presence should bring tangible benefits to local communities. By reorganizing tin mining business permits (IUPs) in accordance with regulations, the provincial government aims to create a safer, fairer, and more prosperous environment for miners and residents. “IUPs must be protected and regulated properly. It’s the duty of both Satgas and local governments to safeguard and guide their communities,” he added.

In addition to the coordination meeting, Satgas PKH also inspected a smelter previously seized during an investigation. The Babel provincial government hopes this visit will help restore order to the mining sector—ensuring compliance with environmental reclamation standards and strengthening contributions to both national and regional revenues.

Beyond mining, the task force also addressed key issues in the palm oil sector. According to Babel DPRD Chairman Didit Srigusjaya, the discussions focused on two main points: governance and trade management within the palm oil industry.

Through this collaborative approach, the government seeks to align natural resource management with national sustainability and economic equity goals. (P2)
