PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN — The severe floods that struck parts of Sumatra in late November affected thousands of families, including communities living near the operational areas of Musim Mas Group. In a swift humanitarian response, Musim Mas distributed emergency relief supplies at 13 locations across Deli Serdang and Medan in North Sumatra, as well as in Padang, West Sumatra, from 28 to 30 November 2025.
The company delivered rice, cooking oil, eggs, instant noodles, dry bread, children’s milk, and bottled water directly to each affected subdistrict to ensure families had access to essential goods during the emergency period. Musim Mas also supported government-run public kitchens to help secure daily meals for evacuees staying in temporary shelters.
Yuandy, Corporate Affairs General Manager at Musim Mas, led the on-site distribution efforts. “Our priority is to ensure timely delivery of assistance to those who need it most. Many areas were inaccessible due to high water levels, so we adjusted routes and dispatched logistics from multiple points to speed up the process. This assistance represents Musim Mas’ social responsibility and commitment to the communities around us, especially in challenging times like these,” he told Palmoilmagazine.com on Thursday (12/4).
The relief efforts were carried out in close coordination with district governments, village leaders, and local volunteers to ensure rapid and equitable distribution. Musim Mas continues to monitor conditions and is prepared to extend further support with local authorities should the situation escalate or require additional recovery measures.
Khairi Azman Ginting, Village Head of Tanjung Baru in Deli Serdang, expressed his appreciation. “We are grateful to Musim Mas for supporting our community during the floods. The assistance has been extremely helpful for our residents. We hope Musim Mas will continue to maintain strong relations with the surrounding communities,” he said.
Yuandy added that the company also provided assistance to more than 1,000 Musim Mas workers who were personally affected by the floods. “In difficult times like this, we support one another—both our employees and the communities around us.”
The emergency aid initiative is part of Musim Mas’ long-standing social responsibility framework, built on five pillars: Education, Climate & Environment, Health, Arts, Culture & Sports, and Community Development. (P3)
