Palmoilmagazine.com, JAKARTA – Social media is the spot for smallholders to complain in every single day. Many wrote why crude palm oil gets cheaper and make fresh fruit bunch (FFB) get cheaper.

Some even wrote, the cheaper FFB that smallholders produced, had something to do with political situation. This happens as same as when CPO was banned in April April 2022.

“But the words written in social media are terpuruk and ambruk. The smallholders are facing the two though the cheap FFB was hardly happening one year ago. But the cheap FFB took place in the first week of April 2023,” Chairman of Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (Apkasindo), Gulat Manurung said to Palmoilmagazine.com, Sunday (30/4/2023).

He thought, FFB produced by smallholders when was sold to many mills in the first week of April 2023 was only about Rp 2.400 – Rp 2.700/kg. According to Posko Harga TBS Apkasindo on 17 – 29 April, plasma smallholders’ FFB got cheaper to be about Rp 2.100 – Rp 2.200 from Rp 2.600 – Rp 2.900/kg in average.

He continued, independent smallholders’ FFB in some provinces, such as, South Sulawesi, Banten, West Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Papua and other provinces, is getting cheaper at Rp 1.650 – Rp1.800/kg. “It gets cheaper so much compared to it in April which was still at Rp 2.200 – Rp 2.350/kg,” Manurung said.
