Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food Takes Canaan Enterprise toThailand

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canaan Enterprise Company Ltd (Canaan) to increase the exports from Indonesia to Thailand in Trade Expo Indonesia the 32nd in Indonesia Convention and Exhibition(ICE)-BSD City.  Through this, Canaan would be the single and main agent having the exclusive rights to import, distribute, re-sell the margarine, shortening, laurat acid produced by Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food within the trade-mark Menara, Red Rose,and I-soc in Thailand.

The MoUwas signed by Director of Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food, Dr. Ing. Gianto Widjaja, and Direktur Canaan, Mr. Theeraphat Denprasert. In the opportunity, Secretary of Trade, Indonesian Republic, Enggartiasto Lukita;  the Embassador of Indonesia in Thailand, Ahmad Rusdi; and Managing Director Sinar Mas, Saleh Husein witnessed the MoU.

 

Director of Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food, Dr. Ing. Gianto Widjaja said, the MoU is done based on the partnership between both companies that has been running since 2013. We knew the good potential in Thailand. It is also supported by the increasing volume, about 30% from the previous year.

 

Director of Canaan, Theeraphat Denprasert mengungapkan, Canaan could run palm oil business sector in Thailand through the partnership with Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food. The knowledge and understanding about the market would ensure thee sustainability of our success, as same as the increasing demands in Thailand. “In 2017, Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food targets to supply Canaan reaching about 2.000 metric ton, or reaching about US$ 1,5 million of investment. TheMoUwas signed by PT SMART, as the business entity of Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food,” he said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

 

According to the company, the MoU also showed the deep relationship between Thailand and Indonesia’s companies. It is to follow up the billateral meeting between Secretary of External Affair from both countriesand promiseed to increase the economic trade between two biggest economy in ASEAN.(T2)
