Asian Agri Presented Topaz Seed to International Markets in TEI 2017

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Asian Agri, onebiggest national palm oil plantation company takes part in Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2017 held by Ministry of Trade, Indonesian Republic on 11 – 15 October 2017 in Indonesia Convention and Exhibition(ICE)  in BSD City, Tangerang.

The stand of Asian Agri proposes the theme of sustainable palm oil cultivation, that is sustainably showned up in palm oil plantation look by putting three palm oil trees, four fresh fruit bunch, ramet, to drag the visitors to see.

The superior seed, Topaz, successfully attracted the attention of President Joko Widodo and the First Lady, Iriana Joko Widodo when looking at the stand, together with Coordinator Secretary in Economy, Darmin Nasution; Secretary of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita, Secretary of Cabinet, Pramono Anung after the inauguration of TEI 2017 kemarin.


In the opportunity, Topaz Seed Senior Breeder, Asian Agri, Ang Boon Beng, described, Asian Agri focuses to the intensification and the Research and Development(R & D)keeps developing Topaz palm oil seed to produce fresh fruit bunch from the Topaz areas in Riau.


When President Joko Widodo asked, Ang Boon Beng told that Asian Agri has seed areas to breed laying about 300 hectaresin Riau andthe production capacity reaches 25 millionseeds /year. “Now we produce the seeds based on the demands,” Ang said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.


Corporate Affairs Director, Asian Agri, Fadhil Hasan andHead of Sustainability & Stakeholder Relations, Bernard Riedo welcome the presence of President Joko Widodo andthe First Lady, Iriana Joko Widodo together with the secretary and the officers in the stand of Asian Agri next to the stand of Apical, the company producing further process from palm oil to be derivative products, such as, cooking oil, margarine, and shortenining to be sold locally and export.


Head of Sustainability & Stakeholder Relations, Asian Agri, Bernard Riedo said,it was a pleasure for the company and TEI 2017 that President Joko Widodo wanted to visit our stand and had a conversation with us about palm oil industrial development, the production, and the seeds we produce. The President also asked us, Asian Agri to help the smallholders to get superior seeds to have better harvest.


The participation of Asian Agri in TEI 2017 is the first time and it also emphasized to the visitors, namely the foreigners that Asian Agri commits to manage, and cultivate palm oil areas sustainably. “We advantage the opportunity to educate and promote sustainable palm oil from Indonesia that has concepts environmentally, and develop partnership with the smallholders,” Bernard said.(T2)
