InfoSAWIT, NEW DELHI – In the recent days, India proposed a policy saying, palm oil in every packaged products should be labelled so that the consumers know the contents in a product.
The proposal arose in the Ministrial Meeting about the agricultural issues. The policy was told because some of packaged food products just mentioned “vegetable oil”.
One representative of the country, Niti Aayog suggested, in the food security meeting, FSSAI should tell the producers and importers in India to name the portion of palm oil in their products.
The argumentation about palm oil that influences the health runs for long. As quoted from timesofindia.indiatimes.com, the researchers from palm oil producer countries rejected the assumption saying palm oil increasing cholesterol.(T3)
