InfoSAWIT, SAMPIT –Kotawaringin Timur (Kotim) Legislators felt sorry for what PT Bumi Sawit Kecana (BSK) II Wilmar Group did in Village of Sebabi, Sub district of Telawang for violating the local people by advantaging the security officers to solve the area conflict there.
Vice Chairman of Kotim Legislators, H Supriadi hoped, the Governor of Central Kalimantan, H Sugianto Sabran, could strictly revoke the license of the company that violated the people by using the security officers.
“The Governor should be strict. Revoke the license of the company that used the police officers. What a pity for they (people) just want to defend their rights but they should be violated,” he said, Friday (22/12) as quoted from Kalteng Pos.
He also said, the conflict between the people and the palm oil company, Wilmar Group, in the region has been running for too long. The people claimed that the company has taken and cultivated their areas. The company also claimed, the areas have been bought. What is regretful is that the company took the police officers to secure the people.
He also mentioned, the police should serve, protect, and watch the people. Don’t let them be the victims because they defend on their rights (areas). “Of course, this is unfair and the Governor should strictly help the people,” he said.
