Some Palm Oil Companies Have Increasing FFB Production

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – According to some companies, the productivity is the important point for palm oil industries Indonesia. In the previous, PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk. increased the fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production in 2018.

"The target of FFB production in 2018 would increase 5% to 10%," Director and Investor Relation, PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk., Andi W Setianto, said, as quoted fromKontan.The increasing would be from the replanting program to the the unproductive trees. It is believed to increase the productivity.

Just like PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk., (SSMS). Director of Financial and Independent Director, SSMS, Nicholas  J. Whittle, said, the bad season ended in 2016 and it postponed the FFB and crude palm oil CPO) production of SSMS.

In 2017, the FFB production of the company started to increased. Base don the financial report in the third quarter, the production in 2017 increased 37,1% compared to the same period in 2016. By January to September 2017, the FFB production of SSMS reached 938.025 tons.

The increasing FFB production also increased the CPO production. Its total in the third quarter reached 262.356 metric tons(MT)or increased 36,5% compared to the last year production. SSM would enlarge the areas until 2020. The main areas of the company have reached 97.335 hectares (Ha) within the planted ones reaching 70.840 Ha. Knowing that the unmaximal planting, SSMS would enlarge more. Nicholas continued, the enlargement would be reaching 4.000 Ha to 5.000 Ha in every single year.

In 2018, PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk., would construct palm oil and palm kernel factories in West Papua within the investment prediction about US$ 21,3 million.

It is done because the main FFB production of the company increases. If in September 2016,the FFB production reached 471.972 tons, by September 2017  it increased to be 515.263 tons. The increasing did not calculate the production from the third side.
