InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –In January 2018 crude palm oil (CPO) and the derivative exports (not biodiesel and oleo-chemical) increased 4% only compared to those in December 2017 or from 2,63 million tons to be 2,74 million tons in January 2018.
In January,China decreased the imports significantly reaching 15% or from 362,50 thousand tons in December 2017 to be 307,49 thousand tons in January 2018.
The decreasing CPO imports in China happened for the abundant soybean oil stock. It took place for the soymeal consumption was massive in the livestock sector in the country.
European Union also decreased its CPO imports from Indonesia, reaching 8% or from 437,94 thousand tons in December 2017 to be 404,22 thousand tons in January 2018. The Middle East countries did decrease their imports reaching 31% and Africa 10%.
“The imports in India slightly increased, only 1% or from 593,25 thousand tons in December 2017 to be 598,35 thousand tons in January 2018,”General Secretary of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Togar Sitanggang, said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Monday (12/3/2018). (T2)
