InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –Actually, developing palm oil human resources (HR) still needs clear roadmap. Even after Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) formulated the research roadmap, it should actually be continued with the roadmap of HR development. But the formulation of palm oil HR could not be randomly done for it should be in synergy with the roadmap of industrial development.
Its goal is that the future HR development could be the same with the industrial development. “We should not make the HR development to the upstream sector while the industries develop to the downstream sector,” Head of Program Service Division, Directorate of Fund Distribution, PFMA, Prayuda Muljo, recently said.
So the roadmap should be in synergy. This is the reason that until now the palm oil HR could not be developed yet. HR development still focuses to the people’s replanting program which the goal is to increase the productivity.
But the people’s replanting program is late to do while the HR preparation through the cooperation between Indonesian Smallholders Association or Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (Apkasindo)and the educational institutions runs fast.
So to fulfill the emptiness, the graduates from D1 Scholarship could work in the companies. “It would be worse if they are jobless. Let them work in the industries so that they would get additional practices in cultivating the plantation while waiting for the replanting program,” Prayuda said. (T2)
