InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA -The study result of Greenomics Indonesia showed that in 2004-2017, the forest areas that were released to be plantation license for the particular businessmen (stakeholders)reached more than 2,4 million hectares or more than about 36 times of DKI Jakarta.
More than 90% of the plantation published licenses were to expand palm oil plantation given to the stakeholders. “More than 2,2 million hectares or more than 91% or 33 times more than DKI Jakarta, the plantation licenses were given in the President SBY era. While the plantation license in President JokoWidodo era, just reached more less 200 thousand hectares or less than 9%,” Executive Director of Greenomics Indonesia, Vanda Mutia Dewi, said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
The study also revealed thatZulkifli Hasan, the Minister of Forestry in 2009-2014, and as the General Secretary of Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN), made new record as the Minister publishing many plantation licenses to the particular businessmen (stakeholders) reaching about 1,64 million hectare or almost 25 times more than DKI Jakarta.
The plantation licenses published by Zulkifli Hasan were equal to almost 70% of the total plantation license given to the stakeholders in 2004-2017.
The numbers were not for palm oil plantation areas that were legalized from forest regions when Zulkifli as the Minister.
When the Minister of Forestry was MS Kaban in 2004-2009, plantation license for the particular businessmen reached about 600 thousandhectares or almost 9 times more than Jakarta. The plantation license published by Kaban was almost 24% of the total licenses published in 2004-2017.
While the plantation licenses published by Minister of Environment and Forestry, Sit Nurbaya through Head of Investment Coordinator reached 216 thousandhectares or about 3 times more than Jakarta or 8,9% of the total plantation licenses for the particular businessmen in 2004-2017. (T2)
