Realizing Food Security Needs Multi-side Collaboration

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –Coordinator Minister in Economy, Darmin Nasution asked many countries in Southeast Asia to ensure that every one could get safe and healthy food, and to collaborate in answering the challenge of climate issue, population development, and areal usage competition. “RBF Jakarta is the strategic partner for Indonesia to realize Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We do hope, every side should be in synergy to present the good agricultural activity, including for the youth,” he recently said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

The President of Indonesian Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) &Vice Chairman of Indonesian Chambers, Shinta Kamdani also said that same that every stakeholder should work in one direction to realize the SDGs.

As one country having biggest economy activity in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is the main agricultural producer and the bridge between Asia and Australia. “It is not an option anymore to do common business. We need leadership and the new way of thought to solve the challenge in sustainable development,” Shinta said.

Co-Chairman, PISAgro & Chief Executive Officer, Golden Agri-Resources, Franky Widjaja, said the same about the collaboration among the stakeholders to transform the chain of value of food and agriculture. Franky also challenged every participant of the forum to “make result” within the recommendation to be followed up to increase the harvest and the welfare of the smallholders (farmers).(T2)
