InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –The tighter human resource procurement in palm oil sector urged the educational institutions to improve and keep increasing their competitiveness so that the graduates could work in the companies.
There are three important points to increase the competitiveness in palm oil plantation, they are, productivity and selling price of production; the second, effective and efficient technology application; and the third, mainstay and competent human resources.
Director of Poltek Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi (CWE), Nugroho, said, his side keeps increasing the strong and independent institution to have competent and mainstay graduate in their sectors.
The increasing of competitiveness is seen from the B accreditation got from Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT) for Diploma 3 Logistic Management. “So every study program has got B,” he said.
Then to the practices of the students, Politeknik Kelapa Sawit CWE has multiplied palm oil plantation about 10 hectares in Subang or about 2 hours to get there from the campus. So the total palm oil areas of the campus to practice become 12 hectares. “The additional areas is hoped to support the competence of the students that the industries demand and the competition among the college,” he said.
The next is that Poltek CWE plan to make Diploma 4 in Teknologi Produksi Tanaman Perkebunanand D4 in Teknologi Rekayasa Logistik. The proposals have been agreed by Kopertis Wilayah 4. “The two are in the license process in Ministry of Ristek dan Dikti,” Nugroho said.
The opening D4 program in phase would stop the D3 program. Meanwhile the students who have learned D3 would be suggested to continue to D4 program.
The suggestion to continue the D3 program to D4 program is about to fulfill the needs of worker in the field. If graduating D4 program, they could be Plantation Assistant if working in palm oil plantation. (T2)
