Palm Oil Production from Indonesia Decreased 2%

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – When the global demands to palm oil from Indonesia were not good, palm oil production from Indonesia was not maximal too.

According to Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) in February 2018,crude palm oil (CPO) production from Indonesia decreased 2% orfrom 3,4 milliontonsinJanuaryto be 3,35 milliontonsinFebruary.

“The decreasing production was normal. Within the stable production and not many exports, CPO stocks in Indonesia remained good at 3,5 millionby the end ofFebruary 2018,” Vice Chairman III, IPOA, Togar Sitanggang said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Monday (23/4/2018).

Next month, the exports might be increasing to the Middle East countries and Pakistan. Those countries start preparing their stocks heading to Ramadhan days.

The exports to China might be increasing too because of its plan to increase soybean import tariff from United States of America (USA). It is the response from USA policy that increased the import tariff of steel, aluminium, washing mechine, solar panel from China in the NAFTA summit. (T2)
