InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –It has been more than one year after Supreme Court sentenced that the government should open and give the information about the lists of Business License (BL) holders to the people. But Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/National Land Agency seems to be reluctant to realize it.
So Forest Watch Indonesia (FWI) did demonstration in front of the office of Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/National Land Agency to give the petition to open the BL information which had been gathered through change.org/BukaInformasiHGU. The petition has been supported by about 53.000 men.
In the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Monday (28/5/2018), this was the second demonstration done by FWI together with the people to urge Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/Head of National Land Agency, Sofyan Djalil to obey and realize the sentence of Supreme Court. Last year, the Ministry promised to obey it by giving and opening the documents of BL holders and accomplished the technical guidance about the taking of BL documents. But until now, the government does not show the good will to realize the promise.
“This is our expression for we are not satisfied to what Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/National Land Agency has done. The next is that we would take more people to sue the transparency in forest and area management,” Coordinator in the demonstration, Anggi Putra Prayoga said in his oration.
Campaigner of FWI, Linda Rosalina felt sorry for what the Ministry has done and obviously ignored the Laws about Public Information. The unrevealed information from Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/National Land Agency has something to do with the policy for all these years and makes controvercy.
“For all these years, giving the BL license to the corporates without tranparency and public supervision always makes impacts, such as, forest loss, and deforestation. It also triggers the tenure conflicts, the fire in the area and forest, and makes bigger gap in land mastery,” Linda said. (T2)
