InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The crude palm oil (CPO) trade in April 2018 was about US$ 640 – US$ 680 per ton within the average US$ 662,2 per ton. “The April average price decreased US$ 14 compared to the average price in March which was US$ 676,2 per ton,” Executive Director ofIndonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Danang Girindrawardana said in the official statement toInfoSAWIT.
He also mentioned, the unique trend in Marchand April 2018 could be analyzed by some trade barriers about palm oil, both in tariff, and non tariff issues.
The fluctuation of price and demands are the usual things in commodity but there should be series of anticipation programs, both from the government and from the stakeholders.
It needs to make negotiation or new strategy to decrease the trade barriers that some countries published, namely from the main export countries from Indonesia. “Besides it needs to sell CPO to the new countries intencively. It is time to make domestic regulation to increase the CPO competitiveness in the global markets and it needs special attention to do,” he said. (T2)
