Sinar Mas’ Factories Are Fully Traceability to Plantation

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – As one big palm oil plantation company in the world, Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food, since 2017 has confirmed that every palm oil product deriving from the company is fully traceability to the plantation (TTP).

So the company which has about 44 factories could be traced based on the sustainable and environmental criteria in Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) version.

Head of Downstream Sustainability Implementation, Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food Daniel Prakarsa said, the traceability covers about 39% of all products that the company processed. It also covers 70 suppliers by buying the fresh fruit bunch (FFB) from 11 thousand independent smallholders who cultivate about 40 thousand hectare areas.

Meanwhile the palm oil stock from the third side would implement the scheme and would fulfill the target (TTP) in 2020. There are about 427 palm oil factories that supply the FFB to Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food.

“After 2017 we complete the TTP for our factories, it would continue to map the chain of stock to 427 other independent suppliers as part of traceability to plantation in 2020,” he said Tuesday (17/7/2018) in Jakarta. (T2)
