Indonesia Discussed Some Trade Issues in USA

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Minister of Trade, Indonesia, Enggartiasto Lukita led the delegations from Indonesia in the work visit to United States of America (USA), Sunday (22/7/2018). Enggar would be in Washington DC to meet the leaders of USA and the businessmen (stakeholders) to discuss and increase the trade relationship, and also the better cooperation with the country.

“USA is the main trade partner for Indonesia, so the visit is important to keep and have better and profitable trade partner. As two big democratic countries within the developing markets, we are optimist, the visit would have good result to make wider economic partnership,” Enggar said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

He also would meet Minister of Trade, USA, and the Ambassador of United States Trade Representative(USTR) to discuss some issues between Indonesia and USA, such as, the review of USA on Generalized System of Preference (GSP) to Indonesia, the tax policy on steel and aluminum to USA, and market access issue in Indonesia, such as, palm oil biodiesel.

Besides making bilateral meeting with the officials in USA, Enggar and other USA officials would attend the business forum, and one-on-one business matching among the businessmen (stakeholders) from both countries. They would cooperate in Washington DC.

The business delegations from Indonesia consist of Indonesian Chambers, Gabungan Perusahaan Eksportir Indonesia (GPEI), Gabungan Importir Nasional Indonesia (GINSI), Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Indonesian Biofuel Producer Association,Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API), tire, palm oil, steel, boga hari, aluminum, food and beverage producers.(T2)
