CPO Exports to USA from Indonesia Increased 13%

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In the first semester 2018, the crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative export to United States of America (USA) increased from Indonesia reaching 68,38 thousand tons or 13% compared to the same period in last year or from 542,70 thousand tons to be 611,08 thousand tons. “It is expected that USA could increase more to fulfill its domestic industries,” Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Mukti Sardjono said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

But the trade war with China makes the soybean selling in USA to China stuck so it increased the soybean stocks in the country and in the end, the other kinds of vegetable oil imports decreased.

The increasing CPO import from Indonesia in the first semester 2018 happened in Bangladesh, reaching 31%, Pakistan 7%, and Middle East countries 4%. (T2)
