PFMA Involved 37 Universities and 127 Researchers

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) supports palm oil development in the future by funding the research and development program. From what InfoSAWIT got, PFMA funded 115 researches in 2016 to the first semester in 2018 that 37 universities/research institutions did by involving 127 senior researchers and 146 new researchers.

During the period, there had been 101 scientific publications, 11 patent rights, and 3 books. The researches funded by PFMA were not in the upstream only but also in the downstream sectors, starting from the right technology usage up to advantage the technology of information. Some mainstay researches that had been funded, were, the making of bioplastic made of empty bunch, the process of palm oil wood, and the making of surfactant made of palm oil to extinguish the fire.

The promotions of palm oil plantation were done too, both in the domestic and foreign countries. The point of the domestic promotion was the positive campaign to increase the people’s awarenesss, including to the millenial generations.

“While the promotions to the foreign countries focused to increase the image, and to expand the markets by involving the stakeholders, and Ministry of Trade,” Director of PFMA, Dono Boestami said in The Seminar “Menguatkan Pondasi Kelembagaan BPDP-KS untuk Mendukung Sawit Indonesia yang Berkelanjutan, Mengurangi Angka Kemiskinan, dan Mewujudkan Kesejahteraan” in Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta, Monday (20/8/2018) where InfoSAWIT also attended.
