InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The exports of oil and gas in July 2018 reached US$ 14,81 billion or increased 19,0% compared to the same month in last year (YoY). The exports were the highest until in the midst of this year and the high exports may be even the same with the monthly export in the last seven years, reaching US$ 14,82 billion in 2011.
“The exports in July 2018 showed the positive to get the target which the government has regulated,” Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita recently said in the official statement toInfoSAWIT.
He also mentioned that in cummulative, the non-oil and gas exports in January–July 2018 reached US$ 94,21 billion. The numbers increased 11,1% compared to the same period in 2017 (YoY) which reached US$ 84,83 billion. The high exports indicated the positive to get the increasing target of non-oil and gas exports, 11% in this year.
Some main commodities of non-oil and gas exports that contributed to the increasing exports in January–July 2018 were ore, crust, metal ash (HS 26); steel and iron (HS 72); pulp(HS 47); and some chemical products (HS 38); and things from iron and steel (HS 73). The increasing exports of the commodities happened for the increasing export price, except ore, crust, and metal ash. (HS 26). The increasing export price may be indicated by the better increasing exports from the volume.
In the same time, Enggartiasto also told that the exports to China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan significantly contributed to the increasing non-oil and gas exports in January–July 2018 for the increasing demands in their countries. (T2)
