InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Some palm oil subsidiaries of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk., got Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificates. The mandatory certificates were given to PT Cakung Permata Nusa, PT Persada Dinamika Lestari, PT Cakradenta Agung Pertiwi in South Kalimantan; PT Palma Plantasindo in East Kalimantan; PT Cipta Agro Nusantara in Central Sulawesi; and PT Palma Plantasindo in East Kalimantan. Besides companies, there are business in union too (Sumber Rejeki) which is developed by PT Ekadura Indonesia, Pekanbaru.
“Just the same with the vision and mission of the company, Astra Agro wants to be the role model and useful company for the nation. Getting ISPO certificate is the important priority,” Vice President Sustainability, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk., Bandung Sahari said.
Getting ISPO certificates is the proof that the palm oil plantation governance in Astra Agro is sustainable.
So far, Astra Agro Group has got 40 ISPO certificates. Of the total numbers, 38 are for the main plantations and the other 2 are for the plantations developed by the companies. In 2016, the group was as the ISPO Certificate owner the most.
General Director of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture, Bambang appreciated the companies which are fully committed to make palm oil plantation industries run the principles of ISPO.
ISPO certificate is important and everyone should struggle for it. He thought, the certificate is the proof that the country is committed to make palm oil industries cultivated well and developed to welfare the people. “No one could say No to ISPO,” Bambang said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Tuesday (18/9/2018).
