InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –In the workshop about PembelajaranSertifikasiIndonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) for the Smallholders, it was revealed that the legal and administration are the main issues in ISPO certification process.
Irham of PT Mutuagung Lestari said, based on the late experiences to certify the smallholders’ areas, they hit the legal. And the interesting one was, the smallholders asked about to increase the status of their plantations.
“Many of them asked about the advantage to change the status of their plantations from SuratKepemilikan Tanah (SKT) to beSertifikat Hak Milik (SHM). The result was that many of the smallholders did not want to increase their status of plantation,” Irham told in the discussion whereInfoSAWITalso attended.
He continued, his side is auditing two independent smallholders’ unions, they are, Koperasi Sawit Prima Pantun andKoperasi Sawit Mutiara Kombeng. The two are the partners of Sinar Mas Group.
The keys to succeed certification for the smallholders are their readiness, their understanding about environmental cultivation. “And the empowerment of the smallholders’ organization and the additional value after they successfully got the ISPO certificate,” Irham said. (T2)
