InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – To strengthen Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil(ISPO), Vice General Secretary of Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (APKASINDO), Rino Afrino proposed that every company having ISPO certificate should buy fresh fruit bunch (FFB) from the smallholders’ institutions.
He thought, this could increase the FFB price in th smallholders’ level to be more stable, there would be no more middlemen or the ramp to decide the FFB price, and it could improve the FFB governance in the smallholders relating to the cheap crude palm oil (CPO) price.
“Palm oil plantation companies having ISPO certificate should buy the FFB through the smallholders’ institutions, they could not buy it from the middlemen,” he said, Friday (28/9/2018) in Jakarta.
“If 419 companies having ISPO certificate obey the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture No. 1/2018 about the FFB Price Decision, this could minimize the FFB discount of the smallholders done by the middlemen,” Rino said. (T2)
