Palm Oil Contributes to SDGs

InfoSAWIT, JERMAN –International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) recently reported and emphasized that sustainable palm oil is important part of the solution to fulfill the food demands in Europe.

Chairman of European Palm Oil Alliance (EPOA), Frans Claassen said that his side supports the sustainable palm oil production and consumption to advantage the positive influences to conquer the poverty, conserve the nature, develop the social and economy, and fulfill the labors’ rights. “In the end, sustainable palm oil contributes to, at least, 7 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” he said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

He also mentioned that his side tries to cover the gap, both in Europe and the producer countries, urge to give information with the food and retailer companies to fulfill their commitment to use sustainable palm oil 100% in Europe and to fulfill the SDGs to catalyze the global changes.

“Let us work together and tell the positive about sustainable palm oil in the field, and empower the people who produce it to be real,” he said. (T2)
