InfoSAWIT, MADRID – In his visit to Spain, Minister of Trade, Indonesia Enggartiasto Lukitadid billateral meeting with Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism, Spain, Maria Reyes Maroto Illera and billateral meeting with Minister of Industry, Malaysia, Teresa Koh Sum Sim.
The meeting with Minister Maria Reyes Maroto Illera discussed about the acceleration of Indonesia-European Union Comprehensif Economy Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA).
In the recent official statement to InfoSAWIT, Enggartiasto asked for the support and cooperation with Spain so that some main export products from Indonesia to Europe, such as, fishery, plantation, and industries have better liberalization in the continent.
The billateral meeting with Minister of Industry, Malaysia, Teresa Koh Sum Sim discussed to increase the cooperation in the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) to fight for the negative campaign, anti-palm oil.
“Indonesia and Malaysia would cooperate to arrange the strategies and campaign the sustainable palm oil to fight for the negative,” Enggar said.
Palm oil exports from Indonesia to European Union in 2017 reached US$ 3,83 billion or increased 35,27 percent from the previous year, reaching US$ 2,83 billion. While the commodity exports to Spain in 2017 reached US$ 1,17 billion or significantly increased 98,38 percent from the previous year, reaching US$ 795,09 million.(T2)
