InfoSAWIT, NUSA DUA – Asosiasi Petani Sawit Swadaya Petapahan Maju Bersama got award in Plantation Productivity Category in KUD / Asosiasi Petani which the President of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo directly handed over in the opening ceremony of the 14thIndonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) in Bali International Convention Center, Monday (29/10/2018) in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
Asosiasi Petapahan Maju Bersama is the smallholders’ association having the highest productivity in the competition that every KUD and other associations in Indonesia took part in the competition.
Within the 9 to 10 year old plantation and the harvest rotation 3 times a month, the plantations of Asosiasi Petapahan Maju Bersamawhere they were planted by Topaz seeds, they could produce 22,16 tons per hectare per year in January-September 2018, and the production estimation in the end of the year could be 30 tons per hectare per year.
Chairman ofAsosiasi Petapahan Maju Bersama, H. Suher told that this would become the support for the members of the association to increase more productivity. “We got this for our efforts in implementing the best practice to nurse and cultivate our plantations. We got and learned this from the partnership with the company,” he said.
Asosiasi Petapahan Maju Bersama in Village of Petapahan, Riau is the independent smallholders association in partnership with Asian Agri since 2014 and has 129 members cultivating 361 hectares of palm oil plantation.
Besides the plantation productivity, the clean plantation and the harvest rotations are the aspects to be validated in the competition that Indonesian Palm Oil Association did.
“Through the award, we do hope to take other smallholders to get the same success, just like we get from the partnership program,” H. Suher said.
Head of Partnership Asian Agri, Pengarapen Gurusinga said the partnership with the smallholders should welfare them and it is the main priority.
“The award that Asosiasi Petapahan Maju Bersama got becomes one positive sample of partnership program between the smallholders which always focuses to increase the smallholders’ welfare in the cultivation,” Gurusinga said.(T2)
