InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Ministry of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita said that the trade balance in November2018 was still deficit US$ 2,05 billionthat consisted of non- oil and gas reaching US$ 583,2 million, oil and gas reaching US$ 1,46 billion. “The trade balance deficit in November 2018 increased from the previous month that reached USD 1,77 billion,” Enggartiasto Lukita said in the official statement toInfoSAWIT recently.
He also mentioned that the pressure in the November 2018 trade balance deficit happened for the massive deficit both in oil and gas and non-oil and gas compared to the previous month. The oil and gas trade balance deficit from US$ 1,38billion became US$ 1,46 billion while the non – oil and gas deficit increased from US$ 393,1 million to be US$ 583,2 million.
The high deficit of oil and gas trade balance happened for the high demand imports of oil and crude palm oil though the crude oil was cheap.
“The average crude oil price in November 2018 was US$ 62,3 perbarrel ordecreased 18,8 percentcompared to the previous month. While the non-oil and gas trade deficit happened for the exports which also decreased more compared to the decreasing import,” Enggartiasto said.
In cumulative the trade balance during January to November 2018 was deficit US$ 7,5 billionthat consisted of the surplus of non-oil and gas trade balance reaching US$ 4,64 billionand deficit of oil and gas trade balance reaching US$ 12,15 billion. (T2)
