InfoSAWIT, SAMARINDA – Chairman of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Joko Supriyono said that it is important for East Kalimantan to be the palm oil biodiesel producer.
He thought, this should be struggled for to realize. In addition, palm oil plantations in the province keep growing and increasing significantly.
That is why the result from the plantations should be processed not only as crude palm oil and biodiesel only. “There are many kinds of downstream products, and could be tens or hundreds. It could not be only once to do but should see the market needs,” he said in the fifth branch - meeting of IPOA in Midtown Hotel, Samarinda in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
He also admitted, East Kalimantan has contributed to produce crude palm oil for all these years and the policy making that biodiesel industries which were dominant in the western of Indonesia should be led to the eastern. “Biodiesel industries should exist here. The factories should be developed in this province to supply the eastern and even nationally and globally,” Joko said. (T2)
