InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) is clearly committed to run smallholders’ replanting program (SRP).
Director of PFMA, Dono Bosetami said that to get the fund help from PFMA, the independent smallholders could propose it in group, at least, within 50 hectares in minimal , not in conflict, have ID and tax number.
About the conditions, he continued, his side obeys every regulation and suggestion from the President of Indonesia. For example, the condition to get SRP would be simplified, for example, should be proposed by unions or groups and in 10 days, the technical recommendation should be published. “If they have fulfilled the conditions, in two days after publishing technical recommendation, PFMA could distribute the fund help,” he promised.
Senior researcher of Indonesian Human Rights Committee for Social Justice (IHCS), Gunawan told, though the cooperation as the Laws regulate is open, there should be same conditions according to the laws so there would be no loss.
He said, in the palm oil plantation centers, there should be more empowerment and protection to the smallholders by hoping that the fair partnership could be realized.
Just like what the government’s program in agrarian reform, the plantation companies should have conditions about business rights, plantation license to be understood that the agrarian reform and moratorium have the clear goal. “That is to increase and empower the smallholders’ palm oil plantation,” he recently said in a discussion in Jakarta where InfoSAWIT did attend.
