InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The commitment of Asian Agri to realize sustainable palm oil industries is proved by getting the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificate to 2 business units, they are, PT Indo Sepadan Jaya and PT Rantau Sinar Karsa. The achievement is the sign that every subsidiary of Asian Agri is officially certified.
The certificate was given by Director of Yearly Plantation and Freshness, Ministry of Agriculture, Ir. Irmijati Rachmi Nurbahar, M.Sc. accopanied by Head of ISPO Secretariat, Aziz Hidayat to the Director of Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations Asian Agri, Bernard Riedo in the International Conference and Expo - Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ICE-ISPO) in Jakarta.
Aziz thought, until now the publication of ISPO certificates has been reaching 502 that consist of 493 companies, 5 independent unions, and 4 plasma unions within the total areas reaching 4.115.434 hectares.
Asian Agri got its first ISPO certificate in 2013 through PT Inti Indosawit Subur. Through the partnership program, Asian Agri supports the smallholders to get the certification. Asosiasi Amanah in Riau became the first independent smallholders’ association getting the ISPO certificate.
“We are fully committed to cultivate sustainable palm oil by implementing the best practices in every operational both in the plantation and the factories consistently. We implement the same commitment to the smallholders who become our partners,” Bernard said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT recently. (T2)
