InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – One palm oil plantation company nationally, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk., got the net profits in 2018 reaching about Rp 1,44 billion.
It decreased about 26,9% compared to the net profits in 2017 as the impact of the cheaper crude palm oil (CPO) in the world. Though it decreased, the operational of the company was positive. The CPO production increased 18,5% to be 1,94 million tons.
The increasing CPO production in 2018 happened for the increasing fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production from the main areas reaching 4,42 million tons or increased 12,1% compared to 2017.
“Total volume of the FFB buying, both from the Plasma/KKPA or the third sides, increased 29,5% to be 5,15 million tons in 2018,” President Director of PT Astra Agro Lestari, Tbk., Santosa said after the Shareholders Meeting in Menara Astra in Jakarta, Monday (15/4/2019) where InfoSAWIT did attend too.
He also said that in 2019, the company would budget the same numbers of capital expenditure (Capex) like in 2018. But he was not sure about the nominal. The capex would be used to nurse the immature plantations about 17-20 thousand hectares (ha).
He also admitted that the capex in 2018 reached about Rp 1,6 billion or decreased about 8,3% compared to the capex in 2017.
He thought, the decreasing capex could not drastically done for the wide plantations needs extra nursery besides the company wants to do replanting program for about 4000 to 6000 ha. (T2)
