InfoSAWIT, BOGOR – Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman said that one thing to trigger the young generations of Indonesia to do farm is by transforming the traditional model to be modern one.
“It is absolute to use the technology in the agricultural sector. It is something unavoidable,” he said in the official statement to infosawit.com.
He also reminded that Indonesia has extraordinary resources to realize the food barn in the world in 2045. One optimism could be seen from the success in the ministry to apply modern technology for the swamp, such as, water management, mechanism, and downstream tech.
The data from the ministry revealed that 10 million hectares of swamp are potential to be the agricultural areas in the future. “If we do this well within modern tech, and could harvest three times a year, the swamp could be the source of living for about 1 billion citizens for the next one or two centuries,” he said.
He also gave example that the optimism is from the capability and ability of Indonesia to implement bioenergy B100 that the researchers in the ministry successfully developed. It means that Indonesia would be not difficult about the new and renewable sources of energy by using crude palm oil (CPO).
"This is the first history in the world that Indonesia succeeds to implement B100. Indonesia has made a huge leap by testing it to cars for about 6000 km. Malaysia just started B7 to B10,” Amran said. (A2)
