Forwabun is Made to Support Sustainable Palm Oil Industries

InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – Plantation industries in Indonesia, namely palm oil, are proven to be the pillars of economy and the exchange provider. But the massive exchange seems drown the power of oil and gas industries nationally.

But in the same time, palm oil plantation industries nationally also faces lots of challenges, such as, the politic issues from European Union and the black campaign, domestic minimum information, and the weak spirit and awareness to develop sustainable palm oil industries.

These are the basics for the journalists in Medan to make Forum Wartawan Perkebunan (Forwabun) when meeting in Medan, Saturday (27/4/2019). They also elected Hendrik Hutabarat as their chairman.

Hendrik Hutabarat said that Forwabun has no idea as the hero and obscure the objectives from the journalistic perspectives. But it needs to appreciate and support the palm oil for having economic contribution nationally.

“I think that the pressure and negative issues from European Union to our palm oil is because of the jealous. They have no palm oil to grow. In the same time palm oil is more efficient and effective rather than their mainstay commodity, such as, corn, soybean, and others,” he said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

Meanwhile to develop the awareness and spread the information the right about palm oil, he continued, Forwabun plans to make educative series of activity by involving more journalists both in Medan or others in North Sumatera province and would be in phase. (T2)
