12.600 tons of The Derivative from Belitung Timur Were Exported to Bangladesh

InfoSAWIT, BELITUNG – Ministry of Agriculture through the Badan Karantina Pertanian (Barantan) released the exports (12.600 tons) of processed palm oil from Belitung Timur, Thursday (2/5). Head of Barantan, Ali Jamil representing Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman did it.

"Plantation commodity is the mainstay of the government to get the exchange. It needs cooperation to support it,” Jamil said in Mentawai, Belitung Timur when releasing the export and handing over the Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) as the conditions to export to the goal country.

He also mentioned that the processed palm oil which is exported is palm olein about 9.000 tons or equal to Rp 59,4 billion.  "It is to Bangladesh and palm kernel expeller about 3.600 tons or equal to Rp 6,12 billion to Vietnam," he said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

As the country where most of the citizens do work in agricultural sector, he continued, this is the mainstay of economy and would automatically increase their welfare.

“We are increasing the agricultural commodity to export to add the trade balance with non-oil and gas exports. This is the same with what the President instructed,” he said.

In the same spot, Manager PT Seelindo Wahana Perkasa, Wiliam Hadinata who owns the commodity told that the quarantine always supports his side to fulfill the condition of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) as the condition to the other countries.

He told that the quality of agricultural commodities from Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, such as, pepper, rubber, and palm oil both in fresh fruit bunch and processed one are good. These are proven by the increasing exports to many countries. “These are good because many countries want to import,” he said. (T2)
