Palm Oil Products up to Home Decorations Were in Demand by the Businessmen in Chili and the Potential Transaction is up to US$ 32,56Million

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –One on one business matching that Ministry of Trade did as part of series trade mission in Santiago, Chili was successfully getting transaction up to US$ 32,56 million.

One on one business matching was done by General Directorate of National Export Development in cooperation with the Embassy of Indonesia in Chili.

“One on one business matching was the exploration and the approach to the businessmen in Chili and as the effort to open new export activity heading to the Indonesia – Chili Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC – CEPA). The products from Indonesia were in demand and succeeded to get the potential transaction up to US$ 32,56 million,” General Director of National Export Development, Arlinda said.

She also mentioned that the transaction derived from the home decoration and outdoor products, crude palm oil, RDB olein food grade, and RDB olein for cosmetic and powder chocolate.

Besides, she continued, there would be potential transaction from one year contract of copy paper and uncoated wood free paper. One on one business matching is one part of series of Trade Mission of Ministry of Trade to Santiago, Chili on 15 – 17 May 2019 and led by Minister of Trade, EnggartiastoLukita.

“We also took the businessmen from Chili to advantage the moment of IC – CEPA to increase the trade between both countries. They have big desire to invest and trade,” she said.

In the business exploration that combined two businessmen, some businessmen representatives from Indonesia joined it. The delegations from Indonesia joining the business matching were from the Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency, Indonesian Plantation Company Association, Asia Pulp and Paper, and PT Rois Home Design.

Ministry of Trade also told that the total trade of the two countries in 2018 reached US$ 274 million. In the next two years, Indonesia-Chili agreed to increase the numbers twice more after IC-CEPA runs. In 2018, the trade balance of Indonesia got surplus from Chili reaching US$ 43,87million.
