Palm Oil as the PHO Substitute May not be Healthy

InfoSAWIT, AMERICA – Palm oil shortening has been produced as the substitute after 2015, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) decided that partially hydrogenated oils (PHO) is no longer a healthy vegetable oil and should be vanished in phase.

FDA decided that on 18 June 2019 would be the last for the food companies to re-formulate every material to be used should be from the healthy process and on 1 January 2021 should end their vegetable oil stocks.

In the official release to InfoSAWIT, palm oil demands increase in the last several years. Based on the info from Fact.MR, palm oil trade could be increasing about 3,9% in every single year in 2017 – 2022. Palm oil usage value for the food and drink sector could be US$ 33 billion in the end of 2022. (T2)
