TP Rachmat Chose Palm Oil

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Starting his career in his uncle’s company was not an easy thing to do because TP Rachmat should be a salesman in Astra. He was just as same as the other employees who sold the products of Astra. In his 25 years old, TP Rachmat did start his career until he graduated as the official employee in Astra in the 15th class.

He seems to have good fortune. In 1972 he was trusted to run United Tractors (the sub industry of Astra which sells the heavy tools).

After some years, he and his cousin, Edwin Soeryadjaya started new business, running Triputra Group. The company runs some kinds of business, such as, processing rubber, mine, trade, manufacture, agribusiness, motor dealership, and logistic.

In 1998 Triputra Group started its business in Indonesia. Beside that TP Rachmat also took part to magnify and run PT Adaro Energy, a company running mining business and operating in Kalimantan island. It is normal that he got achievement from Forbes Magazine in 2014, as the 14th richest man in Indonesia.

Starting Palm Oil Business

His business in palm oil started when PT Triputra Agro Persada was officially running as the palm oil plantation company in Indonesia since 2005. At first, it was PT Alam Permata Indah, a company running palm oil business.

Though it is new company, since it was founded until now, PT Triputra Agro Persada could develop its business to some regions in Indonesia. Referring to official info of the company, PT Triputra Agro Persada operates in Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and Jambi.

To enlarge its operation, the company cooperates in the form of investments with other plantation companies, by making joint venture until acquiring the companies.

Considering that many palm oil plantations get negative issues, TP Rachmat thought, it needs to strengthen the management to run sustainable concepts. The implementation of sustainability is to boost the productivity and get the best production.

The national palm oil industries, he continued, still need improvements. Triputra Agro Persada also improves its plantations to produce mature fruit.

Palm oil plantations should run sustainable practices to get the increasing and best production. “Don’t develop palm oil industries without sustainability,” TP Rachmat emphasized. (T2)
