The Road Test of Palm Oil Biodiesel 30% (B30)

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In the office of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR), Jakarta, Thursday (13/6/2019), Minister of EMR, Ignasius Jonan accompanied by Vice Minister of EMR, Arcandra Tahar, launched the Road Test of B30 (the mixture of 30% palm oil biodiesel to diesel in diesel vehicle.

In the ceremony, Head of BPPT, Hammam Riza; Director of PFMA, Dono Boestami; Chairman of APROBI, MP Tumanggor; General Secretary of EMR, Ego Syahrial; General Director of Oil and Gas, Djoko Siswanto; General Director of Electricity, Rida Mulyana; General Director of Minerba, Bambang Gatot Ariyono; General Director of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conversion, Sutijastoto; and Head of Research and Development of EMR, Dadan Kusdiana did attend.

The Launching Road Test B30 was by letting go three trucks and 8 passenger cars within B30 biodiesel machine that would go for about 40 thousand and 50 thousand kilometers.

“The B30 Road Test is not to let the cars go but also to promote to the people that the B30 fuel would have good machine performance and there would be no more additional costs to service the machine,” Jonan said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

He also told that the government would obliged the B30 to the vehicle (diesel) next year (2020) to reduce the diesel imports but to give environmental fuel.

“The most important thing is that every side should go,” he said.

The B30 mandatory program is as the concrete efforts of the government to develop palm oil industries, welfare the smallholders, and guarantee the procurement and stability of fuel in the domestic. (T2)
