The Smallholders Urged that the Fund from PFMA Could be Useful for Them

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – General Secretary of Serikat Petani Kelapa Sawit (SPKS), Mansuetus Darto said that the smallholders support the making of Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) but and unfortunately, the institution hjas no maximal influence for 12 million families of the smallholders.

He also said that the defeat of Joko Widodo when Presidential General Election 2019/2024 run in palm oil centers, such as, in North Sumatera might happen for the smallholders’ disappointment to the partisanship of the country and the fund allocation from PFMA that may be wrong to adavantage the fund.

He also proposed that President Jokowi should really handle the issue so that the allocation from PFMA could be useful for millions of smallholders and support the transformation of the smallholders to be independent, welfare, and sustainable.

“Palm oil biodiesel industries may seem to ‘save themselves’ when palm oil issue in Europe bans palm oil biofuel from Indonesia. The industries want to save the production by running biodiesel program. From this condition, the independent smallholders get the loss for they have nothing to be saved,” he said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Friday (28/6/2019) in Jakarta. (T2)
